YO OK SO I JUST SAW A POST WARNING ABOUT THIS SO, AS SOMEONE WHO HAS SEEN THE MOVIE, LET ME CLEAR THIS RIGHT UP:

Things Deadpool movie had:

  • Nudity (male and female)
  • Sex
  • Dick and sex jokes
  • Awkward camera placing
  • Torture
  • MURDER and some gore
  • A mention of prior abuse

Things Deadpool movie did not have:

  • Rape jokes
  • Anti-trans jokes
  • Humor at the expense of anyone’s sexuality or gender in a negative way.
  • Sexual assault/abuse of any form (nothing explicitly shown)

Like seriously. There were sex jokes every scene but nothing bad bad. And it was also surprisingly respectful towards women considering the nature of certain scenes.

So….really. If you’re ok with the things I listed in the first category, you don’t have to worry. Deadpool was a good movie.

Could u not straight-up lie in order to protect a thing you like, though.

Things the Deadpool movie absolutely did have:

– Deadpool and Vanessa talking about their respective rapes by their uncle(s) in a very joking one-upmanship conversation that made it difficult to tell whether they were being serious, or what part of the conversation they were being serious about. Because these two do not take ANYTHING seriously. And yeah, it makes total sense for both them to joke about being sexually assaulted as a way of coping with it, much like they joke about everything else terrible in their lives– but it’s still a rape joke.

–A transmisogynistic joke where Deadpool gets shoved by a woman and says, “Wow you’re strong. I’m guessing wang.” Because strength means she must secretly be a man, right? No, there was no redeeming context or subversion for this one.

It was a great movie. I loved it. But you can still be honest about parts of the movie that people might find seriously upsetting.

Agree. I enjoyed the movie, but there were some jokes that didn’t sit well with me. The aforementioned sexual assault contest and more than a couple of butch/transphobic jokes thrown at Angel Dust. Not all of the jokes are as benign as you’d like them to be.

As far as gore goes.. I recall a fair amount of realistic blood splatter and an approximately 1-2 minute montage of different forms of torture.
